Computer Science students Michael Pellon, Robert Zinchak, Victoria Winbow, Andrew Krausnick, Brent Peckham, Phillip Coleman, Heather Richardson, and Charles O'Hara presented research papers at the 2006 National Conference for Undergraduate Research. Bryan Brick presented a paper at the South Central Conference of the Consortium for Computer Sciences in Colleges.

Trinity University's chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery won first prize in the Chocolate Festival Bake-Off with a cake decorated to look like a giant motherboard.

Spring 2004

Scott Schwartz received a 2004 Goldwater Scholarship. Scott was the only Trinity student to receive the award this year out of 4 applications from Trinity University. This year there were only 12 computer science students from all universities and colleges in the United States that received the award. Congratulations Scott!

Spring 2003

Alexander Kolliopoulos recieved the first place student paper award of $100.00 for his paper, Visualizing Trees with a Hyperbolic Projection in One Dimension. The paper was published in the Journal of Computing Sciences in Colleges, Volume 18, Number 4, Pages 133-138, April, 2003. Alexander presented his paper at the Fourteenth Annual South Centeral Conference of the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges, Millsaps College, Jackson, Mississippi, April 11, 2003. Earlier this semester Alexander won the Computer Science Department's Charles Babbage Award. Alexander will begin his Ph.D. studies at the University of Toronto in the Fall of 2003.

Spring 2001

Jeff Magnusson was recommended by the Trinity UPE Chapter for a national scholarship. He was selected as one of ten out of all candidates submitted from all UPE chapters in the US. The scholarship money for his scholarship was provided by Microsoft in the amount of $1000.00. Jeff was the selection as the National UPE Microsoft Scholarship winner for 2001.
